Hatemalo Jagran Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. operates Jagaran FM, which broadcasts at 90.8 MHz with a 500-watt transmission capacity, reaching Dailekh, Jajarkot, Kalikot, Rukum, and Salyan districts in Karnali Province, as well as Banke, Bardiya, and Dang in Province 5, and Kailali, Doti, and Achham in Sudurpashchim Province....
Recognizing the growing internet access, Jagaran FM was the first radio station in Surkhet to start online broadcasting in 2012 (Bikram Sambat) through its website www.onlinejagaran.com, mobile app, Facebook @jagarannetwork, and Twitter @jagarannetwork. The station also collaborates with other community radios in Karnali Province.
To make its broadcasts more community-focused, 23 active radio listener groups operate across Surkhet, providing collective feedback to improve program quality. Jagaran FM airs programs on tourism, health, sanitation, education, agriculture, environmental protection, disaster reduction, climate change, good governance, democracy, women's rights, peace, and economic development, aiming to ensure citizens' right to information.
