Dhulekh has managed to establish a significant place in its history in a short period of time. It has become a voice for marginalized and information-deprived communities, advocating for the rights of the people. With the aim of setting up a communication platform, on the 28th of Shrawan, 2066 (13th August 2009), the first meeting of this organization was held, followed by a second meeting on the 29th of Shrawan, 2066 (14th August 2009)....
According to the decisions made during these meetings, a communication cooperative was registered in the district of Dailekh, and the decision was made to operate a community radio in line with the objectives of the organization. As a result, on 12th Bhadra, 2066 (28th August 2009), Dhruvatara Cooperative Institution Limited was formally registered at the Division Cooperative Office in Surkhet, marking the establishment of the organization.
Just as many flower buds come together to form a sacred garland, this initiative has drawn inspiration from the elders and used independent thought as a tool to observe the condition of backward and underserved communities across Dailekh. On 9th Kartik, 2067 (25th October 2010), after receiving the license from the Ministry of Information and Communication, Dhruvatara Community FM began its official broadcasts. The informal daily broadcasts began on 6th Poush, 2066 (21st December 2009), with a 13-hour transmission schedule. As a result, on 28th Magh, 2067 (10th February 2011), the formal inauguration of the radio station was conducted by the Chief District Officer, Mr. Baldev Gautam.
